Sleep Patterns and Daytime Performance of Children with Autism

picture_edited.jpg

Yifang is a PhD student currently researching the relationship between sleep (especially daytime napping) and daytime functioning in school-aged children with autism and typically developing children, conducting a comparative study between the UK and China. She employs both quantitative methods, like actigraphy and behavioural experiments, and qualitative methods in her study.

Before beginning her PhD, she completed an MSc in Psychology of Education at UCL, focusing on the effects of social media use on sleep. She has also been actively involved in volunteering and group training work with autism communities in both China and the UK, which sparked her interest in her doctoral research topic.
