SERL team attend the Sleep and Development Scientists Network


This year the annual Sleep and Development Scientists Network was hosted by the Department of Psychology at the University of York. The day consisted of talks and discussions into the role that sleep plays in memory and development, with research presented from both typical and atypical populations. Three members of our SERL team gave talks on a variety of topics focusing on sleep in atypical development. Our lab director Dr Dagmara Dimitriou discussed personal accounts of sleep issues by autistic adolescents and adults, Our honorary lecturer Dr Anna Joyce spoke about sleep and executive function in young children with Down syndrome. Our PhD candidate Melanie Koelbel gave a talk on sleep in children and adolescents with sickle cell anaemia. The event was organised by Dr Lisa Henderson (University of York), Professor Gareth Gaskell (University of York), Dr Dagmara Dimitriou (University College London) and Dr Jamie Edgin (University of Arizona).
